Two lifelong friends live on a small island in Brittany and discover that one of the inhabitants has won the jackpot in the national lottery. The two old scoundrels then set out to find the mysterious winner in order to secure his favors before the news spreads. But when they discover that the latter is dead, winning ticket in hand, they decide to organize with the complicity of the entire village a big lottery scam to take his place.
